Steve Dowdell

Apprentice Trainer, Teaches Pilates for Men

Steve has been an avid weightlifter and cyclist since his teens, and as an older adult also trained in martial arts. He turned to Pilates in 2007 on the advice of a physical therapist, after a series of injuries sidelined him from his weight-training regimen. Thanks to Pilates’ focus on training the whole body in an integrated fashion, he soon recognized, and learned to correct the imbalances and lack of flexibility that 30 years of conventional athletic pursuits had wreaked upon his body. He was hooked. A writer and editor by profession, Steve also had “workstation jockey” postural issues that Pilates also quickly cleared up.
