Walk-ilates Workshop Description

Pilates+Walking= Walk-ilates
Developed by Ellie Herman, Walk-ilates uses Pilates-based exercises and props to address and correct gait imbalances and compensation patterns. The class begins with special releases and stretches using the ethafoam roller, followed by Pilates Mat exercises using the magic circle and finally standing balances. The class culminates in walking, outside if possible, where proper gait and optimal alignment are stressed. The three-hour workshop will include more detailed teaching cues. Everyone will receive personal corrections to address their gait patterns. MBT shoes are a great addition to this class, but are not required.
